It also looks like that it will never be returning to Hyde Park Chapel in London. Unsure as to if it will remain at Kew as the last I heard that they were looking for a place in London but it will be sometime B4 a decision is made. :-(

Thank you all for your replies.

It seems that they upgraded their website and it went wrong, so it's not £7.50 per film like it said it was, and they do still have them all on site.
So it is all business as usual.

It is the Mormon Church records, the London branch have been at the National Archives for sometime now.

Kind regards
Amanda

Also many of these fische and other records are not stored on site and some when not in use need to be kept in temperature regulated storage.

LDS - not kew??? Is LDS not the Mormon Church records??

National Archives are at Kew

The answer is simple.

There are more people now requesting lookup on films.
With so much more info now on film it takes time for staff to look for some of the stuff.

It is quicker and easier all round to order in advance.
I had a quick moan to myself but when I went my 4 reels were waiting for me so I wasn't more than 15 mins in the queue

I was planning to continue my research on a one named study I am helping with but I am finding now that although the LDS have been there for sometime the films that I want to see need to be ordered in.
I have viewed many films in the time they have been there and I have never seen them being listed as needing to be ordered in, a lot of what I have already viewed there are now listed as having to be ordered.

Does anyone know why?

Kind regards
Amanda
