REQUESTS TO VIEW TREE

Whilst it doesn't cure the underlying problem, it is sometimes possible to see the name on which the member has made the connection by looking under the 'Relation' column in your 'My contacts' list

Sometimes the member has also given you access to their tree too so you can check it out there as well.

It has only been there since October....Yes there was a "Can I view your tree" option message, that you could click on, but you had to put something in the title box...like the name of the ancestor

There have been many posts about this and GR have replied on one of the threads on the suggestions board, saying "It should'nt say that" and they will get it removed/changed, but that was months ago

A thread I started when it was first noticed

You can edit the message.............

That is a standard template message when you click on a persons name.

Some people not familar with templates don't realise you can change the wording before hitting the send button.

I usually ask them what is the connection first.

Believe it or not I almost forgot to change the wording just now - we have been in touch for ages but I suddenly realised the wording sound so rude so I changed it to be a bit more friendly.

:-D :-D :-D

It would be very useful to have some indication within the initial message as to why a member wishes to view a tree rather than just a bland statement which reads:

Please would you give me access to view your tree? Best Regards,

From a personal point of view I have a very large number of people in my tree and it would greatly assist if the person being sought was listed within the message and a brief relationship noted.
