Where there is conflict has GR ever asked a member to remove all their posts refering to a member or stop posting on another members threads or writing any thing about them.

I have been advised that legally they can but do they do it.

They can ban a member or remove posts, they don't need to 'ask' a member to do so.

It says that in the T & Cs. If one continually breaks them one can be banned for life....or at least until one returns under a different name or sets up a proxy IP address.

OR, you could report said member and encourage GR reach a decision as to who is to blame for the conflict, so they may act accordingly. :-D

Edit, alternatively you could politely ASK that member/s to remove all references to you, to not post on your threads again etc... and apologise for the distress you may have previously caused, whether deliberately or inadvertently. That won't of course stop them reading your posts, and reporting them if they find the content is against T & Cs.

Its easy,,,,,,,if you dont like your neighbour you refrain from contact,GR expect people to be mature and adult enough to use the same self restraint on their site.

So what you are saying indirectly is that if someone posts on a thread you or someone else has started and they do not agree with you, you would like them banned from making any further comments.

Arguments will happen no matter what the subject as we are all individuals with our own thoughts on opinions on every subject ever posted on here.

If we all thought the same what a boring place the world would be :-D

If you only want comment in favour of your posts/threads then this forum is not the place to post,

Try Facebook, You can spout about anything and ban anyone who you don't agree with before you appear on the Jeremy kyle show

May be your affiliation as a political activist could have something to do with you wanting to censor/Edit/add/delete what is written.

If a person deleted their account, they might be able to persuade GR to remove any negative posts which occured after that time.

As the boards aren't actively moderated, it would rely on someone spotting and Reporting the offending post.

Added - While someone is a member, there is no automatic facility to stop people posting on a Community Board. GR *can* block then from sending PM's to named people.

Why is it being assumed the poster is refering to herself?I read no reference to that at all.!

So what happened to Freedom of Speech ?

Does it not apply on the boards ?

That would be censorship. Disagreements happen from time to time and also opinions change following a discussion; sometimes middle ground is achieved or an agreement to agree to disagree.

I have argued with friends on GR but we know its nothing personal just a difference of opinion. I'd hate to have friends who just agree with me all the time.

I have known where people have to sit it out on the norty step for a few weeks..ie they are not allowed to post for a set time and in a few cases it has been longer.

Some people who have had several posts removed because GR has said that if they continue not to observe the terms and conditions of the site they will be removed from site.

But in answer to your question Sue I have not heard of anyone being asked to remove all their posts.

There may well be interesting and relevant information in some of their posts so would seem a shame to have them removed.

Persie who has gone looking for posts to enable the same information to be issued again for newer people that come along.

NS has also said on various threads that some members should not be allowed to post on her threads, and tried to close threads to stop members posting and she has also RR'd posts for the same reason

I would imagine most who have replied on this thread, are the ones NS does not want to post on ones threads :-D

Maybe that is why she has not come back - we from the dark side have taken over the world again!!!! ;-)

Since when did any one member 'own' a thread?

If a thread becomes contentious and the OP is not happy, they can always delete it and move on.


The best way to avoid any conflict on the Community Boards, is not to post something which may be controversial.
