Got to say that does look promising -it also has the same names as 2 of the brothers mentioned.
Presumably if the father was an 'army pensioner' at the time Steven was born (1906) then he must have been relatively old by then which also seems to fit.

I think it might be worth your looking at the Irish census for 1911, if one or both of the parents were born there they might just be visiting?

This one has father and son both born England, some siblings and mother born Ireland?

Hope someone can help…

I’m doing a tree for a friend and although the maternal line was pretty easy –I can’t even get off the ground on the paternal…
All the lady knows is the details of her father which are:-

Steven James Murphy born 3/9/1906 at 27, Nora Street Sunderland, and that he had two brothers –Michael Thomas and Danny (who she thinks died in the war.
The family moved to Birmingham but she doesn’t know when.

Now I’ve found them at various addresses in Birmingham on the electoral registers in the 1930's and 40's so I thought it would be easy to get them in the 1911 census so I could get started properly –but nothing.
I’ve now got Steven’s birth certificate which shows his father was also Steven James Murphy an ‘Army Pensioner’
His mother was Mary Ellen Murphy (Murphy was also her maiden name)
Any ideas please?
