Access to Enfield Middx Cemeteries Records

I have a many of my ancestors buried in one of the cemeteries in Enfield/Edmonton Middlesex, at my request they are going to look at the records to see where three of them are buried (I know the dates of death ) but of course as it is time consuming can only request a very few.

The only records they have are the original which obviously the public cannot use,
Other Councils have theirs either transcribed by someone like FMP< Ancestry, Burial Index or have put them on the web themselves.

I wondered if there is any way that the Council could be persuaded to make them accessible to everyone as there are several cemeteries and I will never be able to know where they are buried..

I would be happy to pay to see them.

Have you tried Deceased Online to see if they are listed.

Lots more areas have been uplifted to that site

If you start a petition, I'll sign! :-D

To be honest, it might be better to see if Deceased Online would pay to scan. That way the Council could make some money; I can't see them sparing the time or cash to do it themselves

For those not aware - Deceased Online

Thanks for your replies I think I might try and contact "deceased on line" and Ancestry to see if they would be interested and the Council earn some money I do not think at the moment their records are on any site - have searched and searched.

Hi

have just received this reply from Deceased Online, very impressed with quick response, think I will write to Enfield saying how much it would help their finances (they are always eager to improve that) and how useful it would be people tracing their ancestors if they could be put on line.

Maybe if there are other members with the problem of not being able to search the archives themselves they could also write to their particular Council - especially anyone else tracing Enfield.
