He must have died –

A letter dated 30 Apr 1918 is on file saying that the effects of the Late Cpl Horace Simmons of 1st Bn Notts and Derby should be sent to
Mrs Emily Simmons
3 Stilton Terrace
Miller Street
Nottingham

Mrs Emily Simmons had one child and was awarded a pension with effect 5 Aug 1918

He married Emily Smith at Nottingham Reg office – can’t make out a date
Daughter Elsie born 13? Oct 1912 either Nottingham or Redford – conflicting entries

Posthumously award the British War and Victory medals which were received by Emily on 25 Oct 1921

Added - he had previously served in the Robin Hood rifles in 1903
