but sadly it should be Gaskoin. C.J.B, 'MA', Jesus ( college) Cambridge. :-)

My favorite mistranscription in a census was a listing for something like Bingamingus. When I checked the original it was for Benjamin James.

I now have a grandson named Benjamin - guess what my pet name for him is.
