Yes, that's right................

The only way to find out which - if either - is the one you need is to order the cert and check the father's details, plus, of course, the groom's age

freebmd clearly shows two marriages for the name John A Barnes to Elizabeth M

To find the wife's maiden name, look for the marriage on freebmd.........

....then use the same site to look for children

Have you tried searching for the marriage on freebmd? (http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl) It is the site most of us use to look for births, marriages and deaths up until about 1950.

I am Trying to find out information on a john Arnold Barnes , I know he was born in Ireland in 1909 county down and his father was a William Barnes originally from Thorngumbald east Yorkshire and his mother was Sarah Beatrice young born in the isle of man , I also know Sarah died during childbirth having john Arnold and after his dad William Barnes remarried and the family came home to east Yorkshire between 1911 and 1919. I have got john Arnold Barnes death certificate which informs me he died in 1988 in Stevenage Hertfordshire and his wife was an Elizabeth may Barnes , I am trying to find out when and where he married his wife unfortunately I do not know her maiden name and am interested to know if they ever had any children any help would be much appreciated thank you
