Now go to http://www.old-maps.co.uk/index.html and enter the OS coordinates 523800,310000 then select the 1888 map (1:2500 scale)
So, for the bit of interest, it looks like our enumerator worked along West St, turned down Poorhouse Lane - presumably Poors La is a variant naming - and then west along New Rd, past Crease Drove to the Gas Works - I guess the houses on the right, midway between Crease Drove and the Gas Wks were Gas Terr.

You can also go to a modern map like http://www.streetmap.co.uk/ - this lets you search for the coords (entered as a 13 character string) - you can then zoom in or out Zoom levels 1 & 3 are the most interesting.
At zoom 1, the arrow head points just W of the old windmill's site - I guess the Kings lived just across the road from the windmill, and the Childs lived at the mill.
It seems to me that Poors Lane/Poorhouse Lane has been renamed to Albion St, and New Rd to Broadway.

NB To see the name Crease Drove in 1888, I had to decrease the northing by 500 metres, and enter 523800,309500 - the easting stayed the same.

According to OS maps from 1880's Poor House Lane is now Albion street,

On the 1880's map it listed a building called Albion house where the lane meets West street,

Added, south end of Poor House Lane/Albion street has the School "south view primary" main entrance now off Reform street which is still listed on both todays maps and the 1880's map

Roy

Just checked a 1904 map and Poor House Lane had been renamed Albion street so it changed between late1880's and 1904

If you look at the enumeration district info for the census on which you have reference to it, you should get an idea, at least, of where it was.

On the census record, it is preceded by addresses in West Street................which does still exist
