Problem with Ancestry?

Is anyone else having problems opening original documents on their site?

I can surf around and see the transcriptions of Wills and censuses but when I click to view the document, it just times out and cannot open the page

I've tried restarting my pc........hopeless!

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 1 Mar 2014 12:08

Just checked one saved in my 'shoe box'. It opened OK.

I do have problems with the site when it first opens - my PC freezes for about a minute while it chunders. That's probably something my end rather than theirs.

Want to copy the transcript so someone else has a go?

Opens fine! How about giving them a ring? They'll probably say you need to update something or other!

Thanks Det

It was OK this morning!

Flip Report 1 Mar 2014 12:38

I'm not having problems either - opened the record no problem.

Gins Report 1 Mar 2014 12:47

Phoned them and they seem to think its a problem with BT ISP as they have had a few calls today and they all use BT

Will wait for BT to sort it then!

Thanks for your help

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 1 Mar 2014 13:08

Mary Report 1 Mar 2014 13:14

Gins Report 1 Mar 2014 13:19

Gins Report 1 Mar 2014 14:04

Flip Report 1 Mar 2014 14:09

Blow that one I'm afraid, I'm in North west and on BT - no problems! So maybe Up norf east then?

Gins Report 1 Mar 2014 14:15

ElizabethK Report 1 Mar 2014 15:46

Also many comments on "rootschat"

Ancestry have contacted BT-advise from BT

" power off the BT Hub for 30 seconds and retry"

Apparently this has worked

Mary Report 1 Mar 2014 15:56

That worked for me,cheers.
