Many thanks for above. Names you have listed. Lewis and Catherine were married. Can you tell me where the other 3 names have come from? Have looked for William in Chelsea where Lewis was born but nothing.. Have all the children of Lewis and Catherine. Will now try to find any siblings for Lewis.

Valerie

Kemp posted the marriage registration as shown on ancestry (?) or possibly FMP ............

the other 3 names are nothing to do with you, they are just the other names showing on that particular page of the Index.

The same names show up when using the search engine I use for bmds .......... www.fmp.org.uk

In fact, there is an error on that registration ......... there should be either 4 or 6 names showing ................ ie, an equal number of men and women. That usually means that something has been mis-transcribed at some point.

Ignore those other names.

SylviaInCanada Report 24 Mar 2014 04:29

You say you have the marriage certificate?

What was the address given for Lewis and for Catherine?

What occupation was given for Lewis?

What occupation was given for the father .......... William Jones?

Does the certificate say if William is deceased? Although this is not infallible!

What were the names of the witnesses?? Could any of them have been family members?

apologies for starting another thread. have been away from this site for a few years and only just getting into it again. will put everything on this thread re Lewis and William. Celynn seems to be listed mainly as Monmouthshire in records, but can't find it on map. I am now stuck and not sure what way to go without the mothers name of Lewis

It has been found as Celynin on some censuses posted, which seems to be linked with Llangelynin?

'ST CELYNIN'S CHURCH, LLANGELYNIN' seems to be the link most commonly quoted.
