Was on there yesterday and the old system seems to be back, so much better. Was able to submit several 'transcription errors' yippee :-D

Ah, interesting!
I've been in the habit of using Ancestry on Firefox, and the index tab has popped up when I hovered the cursor over the bottom left corner of the image screen - I was never aware of a green rectangle.
Now the index tab doesn't appear, and there's no green rectangle either.

However, I find if I use Internet Explorer, the green rectangle is there.

Looks like I'll have to use IE for Ancestry from now on.

Many thanks for all replies.

LATER:
Seems to be working again now, on Firefox. For the moment, anyway.

Working OK for me and I'm sure it was yesterday.

I was on Ancestry yesterday and I noticed that when looking at original pages I could now no longer submit a correction.

Did not notice the 'green' rectangle, but will look again later.

I know I was quite miffed that I could not submit an amendment for a glaring transcription error, yet again!!

There is a little green rectangle at the bottom left of the screen that says index. Click on that and the tab pops up.

No, this is the "Index" tab, and correctable list of people's details, which appears (or did until a few days ago) at the bottom of the screen when you're viewing a census image on Ancestry.

However, from the number of views, but lack of replies, it looks as if nobody knows what I'm talking about!

Thanks for your reply, Jax.
Must admit I'd never noticed the "add alternate information" option, in spite of many years use of Ancestry - how unobservant am I? That would do, though not quite the same format, and it only shows when viewing the transcription.
The "index" tab showed when viewing the image, when it was easier to see any mistakes/mistranscriptions.
Maybe they've done away with the "index" tab in favour of "Add alternate information".
I'll ask Ancestry.

I'm off out now, so won't be back here until evening.

Has anyone else lost the Index feature on Ancestry, which allows corrections to be made when viewing census images?

It's been missing for a couple of days now - or is it just my computer?
