All Manchester, England, Marriages and Banns, 1754-1930

Includes St Mary, Prestwich - Possibly other Churches, but I only put in one surname for a specific year.

Hello David,

If you can give us some details of who you are looking for, someone will be able to help you hopefully.

To be honest, not many regulars on here use the GR records.

There are some great free online parish clerk sites for many counties-it's worth a google.

I have looked again at the list and the Manchester/Oldham death/burials records are Not on that list that's the only reason I purchased the extra records what a waste of £14.66 :-S :-S

David,

If you would prefer not to put your names/dates on this board, PM them to me and I will see what I can find.

£14:66? When is your annual renewal?

I have just looked at ADD FEATURES. For Parish Records mine shows £14:95 and a Feature Discount to £9:88. The latter amount is two thirds, which ties in with the fact that my renewal was in July 2014. Thus I would only pay for eight month’s worth up to renewal in July 2015.

I wonder what other members show?

GR have very few PR's....not that I would ever consider using this site to look for records.

I, and most other members, use other sites, which have much more comprehensive coverage, and have only BASIC membership on here

One such is..........

http://www.lan-opc.org.uk/

and it's FREE

TITLE COLLECTION RECORDS ACTIVITY
9935 England, Lancashire, Oldham Cemetery Registers, 1797-2004 45,389

You can search this collection on Ancestry via:
http://search.ancestry.co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=9935

Well, search is a bit strong, since they're unindexed - maybe browse would be more accurate.
Here's some other collections, again on Ancestry:

2959 Manchester, England, Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1541-1812 1,186,882
2960 Manchester, England, Births and Baptisms, 1813-1915 1,702,491
2692 Manchester, England, Marriages and Banns, 1754-1930 1,437,698
2963 Manchester, England, Deaths and Burials, 1813-1985 917,791

3758 Manchester, England, Non-Conformist Births and Baptisms, 1758-1912 197,227
9095 Manchester, England, Non-Conformist Marriages, 1758-1937 103,637
9096 Manchester, England, Non-Conformist Deaths and Burials, 1758-1987 97,860

2964 Manchester, England, Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1573-1812 (Cathedral) 376,533
2965 Manchester, England, Births and Baptisms, 1813-1901 (Cathedral) 282,956
2967 Manchester, England, Marriages and Banns, 1754-1930 (Cathedral) 409,330
2968 Manchester, England, Deaths and Burials, 1813-1866 (Cathedral) 42,850

The Oldham burials, and the first 4 of the above Manchester collections are on FS (at least a large subset of them is). They're at:
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list#page=1®ion=UNITED_KINGDOM_IRELAND

The collections of interest are:
England, Lancashire, Cheshire, Yorkshire, Parish Registers, 1603-1910 993,246 26 Sep 2013
England, Lancashire, Oldham Cemetery Registers, 1797-2004 Browse Images 01 Nov 2011

In spite of FS's collectin title, it's really just C of E diocese of Manchester/Salford records, and they're not fully indexed, but you can search what's indexed via:
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/1788853
and use the browse link on that page to look at the unindexed ones.

In this regard, it's handy to look up marrs first at:
http://www.lancashirebmd.org.uk/

Lancashire Marriage indexes for the years: 1895
Surname Forename(s) Surname Forename(s) Church / Register Office Registers At Reference
DEAN Edward BARON Emily Agnes Prestwich, St.Mary Bury CE18/32/500

Prestwich, St.Mary seems to be indexed, at least up to Edward Dean:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FMTQ-GP3 [with image link]

If he weren't indexed, and you had to browse for him, note the last item in the LancsBMD ref is the entry # ( = 500). Since the images on FS usually have 2 entries per image, Edward should be around image # 250 ( = 500/2). It's actually image # 251.
