Raymond William Chester
4 Jan 1918 Lambeth reg - 12 Jun 1994 Bromley Reg
Probate says he lived at 64 Brockley Grove, London SE4 which 'fits'.

He may have married Joan Berger in 1940, Lewisham reg.

Now the crux - FMP UK Companies House Directors 2002-2014 has an entry for a person of the same name. The street is the same, but a different house number.

https://companycheck.co.uk has a listing for a Raymond William Chester who resigned in 1994 which would tally with his death - the company address is in Herne Bay, Kent

So is the 2002-2014 entry for a son (can't spot a birth) or an automatic listing for R W Chester died 1994?
...........

Will be going out later, but not sure when

Yes Ann - that's the probable marriage. FreeBmd isn't showing any male Chester/Berger births.

The FMP entry is definitely misleading. You could order a copy of the 1994 resignation documents direct from Companies House for £3 which may give more information.

Looking at the listing of officers for the company on Companies House website, it appears that a current director is a son who was born in 1951 (won't post details on here).

That's brilliant MC! Thank you.

The FMP entry threw me because it states 2002-2014, at least 8 years after Raymond W Chester died.

AnnCardiff - I was working on the Lambeth birth. As you say, Joan's birth is the right sort of area. Thank you

As a follow up - one of the other 'Officers' is R W Chester's daughter ;-)
