Can anyone advise me as to the way forward.
FTM no longer available,so cannot purchase with it a Chart Companion to download a gedcom.
I am trying to create a wall chart of my existing trees in a landscape design without a font limitation. In other words when I press print it will start with my earliest ancestor and continue down to the present.Must be able to add at various times further info and pictures.
Await replies in due course.
Regards.

I don't know about Chart Companion, but you can still get FTM on ebay.

Provided you don't want the sync facility with Ancestry, it will work perfectly well.

Hi again,
I also meant to mention that I am on Windows 10 so perhaps the earlier versions of FTM might not be suitable.
I have also seen advertised a Genealogy FT maker but do not know whether it would work.
Regards.
Michael.

There shouldn't be any problem between Windows 10 and early versions of FTM.

We have Windows 10 and FTM 2005 works fine.

Hi again,
Can I produce a wall chart[landscape] from a family tree software from my earliest ancestor to the present day without being limited in font as I used to have a very old GSP 1997 version but was limited to 9 sheets of A4 paper.
If I wanted the whole list of people the size or each entry was about an inch wide!
Therefore it would need to be continuous in printing the total layout.
As I have not experienced the latest wizardry I do not wish to spend unwisely!
Await comments.
Regards.
Michael.

I haven't tried the latest wizardry either!

I have just put a complete tree on my FTM and it had 23 generations showing. This is not 23 direct generations, but the number that it appeared to be because some of the sideways lines were carried further down the page! :-S :-S

The effect is the same though. On this particular version you have to print one page at a time and then join them up afterwards.

Depending on how much information you want in each person's box, you can get 7 generations on one sheet of A4 in a large enough font to read easily. I had name, date and place of birth, marriage and death.

The more recent versions of FTM probably do better, but ours is enough for what I want.

No doubt someone else will be able to give you more information about later versions.

Thanks everyone.
It looks like it will do the trick!
Will have to make it a birthday wish!
Much regards.
