I am interested in Richard Mears birth about 1804, whose daughter Martha married William Tunnel in 1843 at Hellingly. Or any information related to the above.

Hello John, Welcome to the boards.

It helps to know where places are - most of us will not have heard of Hellingly - so is this the right one?

Hellingly - Village in England
Hellingly is a village and civil parish in the Wealden District of East Sussex, England. Wikipedia

Probably, as Martha and Williams marriage shows in Sussex

Haven't found the family in an earlier census yet, but if this is Martha and William then it says she was born Whitechapel, Middlesex.. William is a Broom Maker

Is Martha a little bit older than the 1871 census says??

If so, then her Father was not born c 1804 !

This would put Martha in the right county for the 1843 marriage and the address is similar to the 1871 census. Crowborough and Hellingly are about 15 miles apart

Relationships aren't shown on the 1841 census - if she is married to William Mears, then did a Mears marry a Mears if the 1843 marriage to Wm Tunnel details say her Father is Richard Mears?
William is down as a Hawker.

John you have a response on your previous thread from Romany Star who might be connected to your family

http://www.genesreunited.com.au/boards/board/general_chat/thread/1357514?d=desc&page=0

and there is also a response from me with info,

It is generally not a good idea to post more than one thread on the same family ( even if it is a different generation) as it means as here people are duplicating searches that have already been done. :-)

You can return to your original threads at any time by clicking on "My Threads" under "Tools" at left of screen .

Eleanor Mears was also baptised at the same time as her sister Martha

As many of us are getting 'error' messages when we try to access 'my threads', it might be best to tick the 'watch this' at the top of the page. Not only are those easy to get at, you are sent emails sometime after additional posts have been made.

Well Rose yes you are right we are gypsy's.

Is there a relationship between William born 1804 and Richard born 1811 and not 1804 as I mistakenly wrote. Haven't had time to study your article yet as I have only Just discovered. Kept in touch if anything new come up. I recently made contact with Paul Roberts in Welsh UK who is part of the Deacon Bacon/Gilbert side,
