Hi all,
I am new on here but have been doing a fair bit of family tree research on my family in Ireland.
I am trying to help my sister, who is adopted, trace her birth father who was born in Larnaca in Cyprus around 1942 approx. I have sent various message to government sites in Cyprus without a response. Does anyone know where I can look for his birth certificate please? Any help would be most welcome.
Regards
Ali

Hi there Ali - welcome to the boards :-)

you might be lucky if you use the Mormon free website - www.familysearch.org

if you like you can send me details in a message by clicking on my name - you can't put details on here cos he's hopefully still living

From a few minutes Googling, it seems as though you'll have to contact the Larnaca area office/parish

From this link:
https://familysearch.org/wiki/en/Cyprus_Church_Records
Parish registration notes may be in local parishes. Church records of the 1900s are likely to be in the local parishes or diocesan offices.

Re Civil Registration:
Location: Birth and death records are available at district offices; marriage records are at the Ministry of Interior registration office in Nikosia. This facility likely also houses the material pertaining to Northern Cyprus.

Maybe the Larnaca address given here could help? I don't know what "government sites" you've already contacted.
