Sarah Watson 1825, or was it 1827?

I have found two baptism records for "Sarah Watson" in Portsea, Hampshire:

Name: Sarah Watson
Gender: Female
Baptism Date: 15 Feb 1825
Baptism Place: Portsea, Hampshire, England
Father: John Watson
Mother: Sarah Watson
FHL Film Number: 1596294
Reference ID: Page 17 #133

Name: Sarah Watson
Gender: Female
Baptism Date: 17 Jun 1827
Baptism Place: Portsea, Hampshire, England
Father: John Watson
Mother: Sarah Watson
FHL Film Number: 1596294
Reference ID: Page 63 #501

In both cases the John Watson is in the Royal Marine Artillery so I'm pretty sure it's the same family.

In other such cases the name has been recycled because the first born died very young. I have not been able to find an appropriate death record.

I've been in touch with a very helpful persona at the Hampshire Genealogical Society and their best guess was that the wrong name was entered in the parish record.

One Sarah went on to marry Frederick Adkin and there is a death record for Sarah Adkin giving her birth as about 1825. This and several census records suggest that if there is indeed an error then it is probably with Sarah 1927.

I'm now wondering how to find out what the correct name for Sarah 1927 was. Or indeed if there is another, more plausible, explanation. Any ideas will be gratefully received!!

Thanks Malyon. Yes those are indeed the parents, the record even mentions HMRM Artillery which again ties into the baptism records.

Yes, but there's also this:

Name: Frederick Adkin
Gender: Male
Marriage Date: 21 Oct 1850
Marriage Place: Saint Katherine Creechurch,London,London,England
Spouse: Sarah Watson
FHL Film Number: 374464

where the bride's father is said to be an inspector of police, which John Watson of Portsea was in census records ....

I agree it's tempting to accept the Portsea marriage on the basis of location, location, and location. But how to be sure?

Thanks again, malyon, I hadn't seen the 1901 record.

As I read it, this is all building evidence for Sarah 1825, so who was Sarah 1827?

Thanks again, malyon. I accept that it is possible that the two Sarah baptisms could belong to different parents, however I feel it would be stretching coincidence a bit far: same child name, same parent names, same place, same occupation for father, but of course it is possible.

And thank you for the further clarification, Chris, I'd picked up the Adkin - Russell marriage from the C1901 above.
