Trying to find any info for Reuben Sheasby who was a Private with the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. His service number was 202098. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :-)

Can't find him on any WW1 records on Ancestry! There is no entry for a Reuben or R Sheasby on the CWGC site. Perhaps he turned up alive somewhere?

Did he have another name he might have been known by? What other info do you have for him so that we can retrace your research steps

Is this your Reuben? There are several, but as far as I can see, this is the only one whose age fits:

I believe Reuben was in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and I have a soldier number of 202098 but I haven't a clue where I found this (think it may have popped up on a site and then transferred me to a screen where I had to pay to see further) I wonder if he went by a different name. He had a brother called George and I have found him on the War Grave site (at least I think it's him) he is listed at Pozieres Memorial (Service number 202101 which is quite close to the service number for Reuben).

There seems to be nothing for R Sheasby with that number and Royal Warwickshire Regiment on any site, not even the National Archives!

They must have got it from somewhere - possibly a name transcription error?

Unless someone still has a sub for Forces-war-records, would it be worth contacting the Royal Warks to see what they can suggest?

For a starting place, their museum email address

Julie- are you sure you have the correct Reuben? Are we following the correct family? I don't see the brother George you mentioned earlier. (Reuben did have an Uncle George)

Austin yes, I was getting confused - yes my Reuben did have an Uncle George who also had a brother called Reuben who died around the age of 12. So I was confusing the 2 Reubens! My great grandmother was Florence Sheasby, younger Reuben's sister.

Thank you for all of the above information, sorry for the confusion.
