Can anyone help me with some info.
She was born in Houghton Regis Beds.in 1573 and married a Thomas Cakebread I believe in Norwich Norfolk.
He was born in Norwich in 1595.
There were three children.
Thomas 1615.
Anna.
Mary.
I do not have the dates of birth for the two girls and need these plus the marriage details.

Hi Maddie,
Only one problem is that 1602 must be wrong as have understood that 1610 was in fact the year,as the earlier date would have made him only 7 years old!
Even at 15 there must have been some uproar!

It was legal for children to be married or at least betrothed at a very young age.

They could cohabit from the age of about 12.

Google the name ................ there are lots of sites come up. Maybe one of them will have documented proof!


As I said, it was not unusual to betroth a child at a young age, and the marriage be consummated at age 12 or 14.

BUT what I do think unusual is that the bride is so much older!
