Several years ago I found in a book, a letter from College Of Arms to a MIss Durrieu living in Holland Park W1 London.
It also includes the name of Francis Moult of Tallarton Co Nottingham.
If anyone would be interested in having this letter I am very happy to send it on.

Tallarton probably should be Tollerton, a village just south of Nottingham.

An earlier Francis Moult, of Tollerton was granted arms in 1586 - maybe an ancestor:

I cannot see a Francis Moult born in 1903 in Nottinghamshire.

Francis Moult born 1911 in Mansfield died in 1929.

I cannot see a marriage or death for Francis J Moult, born 1913, Nottingham.

I think the mother of Francis J died shortly after his birth (Charlotte nee Yeomans).

patchem Report 4 Feb 2017 07:23

William E Moult who married Charlotte Yeomans in 1913 may then have married Gertrude Walters in 1919.

There is a William E Moult, 1888, living with Gertrude Moult, 1895, 3 others (Frederick, Walter and Jane) and 1 closed record, in 1939, In Nottingham CB

Jane might be June, to fit with a birth and later marriage.

There is a Gary Moult of Kitchens and Tilings of Tollerton - try google search.

Thank you very much to the people who have taken time to reply.
However, I'm not tracing the the family of the Francis Moult's crest which had the Armorial Bearings recorded in 1686.
I was hoping that someone connected to Miss Pauline Durrieu of 20 Ladbroke Square, Holland Park W1 would be interested in getting the letter back again.
But once again, many thanks
Judith

Sorry, I thought you were interested in a descendant of either person mentioned in the letter.

If you want someone who may know of Pauline Durrieu, then you might want to put her name in the title line of the thread so that it can be picked up on a google search.

If the letter was dated 1951, we can guess a birth date for her from any time after about 1870 to 1925? We might assume she came from France but could be Canada or elsewhere?

There was a Pauline Durrieu born 1889 in NZ in a tree on here (possible siblings Henry and Josephine). Try to contact the tree owner?

Just realised - you did not mention that her name was Pauline on your original posting.

Pauline Durrieu is in several trees on Ancestry - are any of them of any use?

The trees on Ancestry have some very promising leads, but very few people still called Durrieu.
Pauline arrived in England in 1950 age 61 and left in 1952 back to NZ (arrived May) on Ancestry travel information.

So she doesn't show on any electoral roll for the 1950,s at that address because she is a New Zealander who visited the uk from time to time

Wonder if there are any Durrieu in the New Zealand white pages now . They could have a family connection

From trees on ancestry it says originally the family came from from France but desecendents were born in London but eventually settled in New Zealand

So seems the visits could have been to see relatives
