Lots of info about John Cowman and family on your other thread.

As per the 1891 and 1901 censuses on your other thread Stanley Atkinson (c1891) was a grandson of John Cowman.

ATKINSON, STANLEY mms COWMAN
GRO Reference: 1890 S Quarter in COCKERMOUTH Volume 10B Page 562

Parents' marriage:

Stanley's with his mother (mistranscribed on Ancestry as Cowman instead of Atkinson on image) and grandparents in 1891, only his grandparents in 1901, and with an uncle and aunt in 1911. Presumably his mother died 1891-1901,

She was born 1862:

COWMAN, JANE mms LIGHTFOOT
GRO Reference: 1862 D Quarter in COCKERMOUTH Volume 10B Page 448

Possibly her death:

Deaths Mar 1895 (>99%)
Atkinson Jane 32 Cockermouth 10b 413

Wonder what happened to her husband?
I'm assuming he was some relative of Robert Atkinson - but maybe not.

From c190, Cumberland & Westmorland Herald4:

BRAITHWAITE

The annual flower show at Braithwaite was followed by sports. The boring competition was won by Mr. Vennie, Shap, who showed that he was a master of his work, drilling a hole of 73/4 inches in only ten minutes. G. Hall, aged 18, was awarded second place. E. Dalzell, Keswick, took first spot in the fell race, with C. Mossop, Borrowdale, second. The old coin pitching conducted by R. Atkinson, Swinside, was won by Mr. Borthwick, High Hill, Keswick.

the only info I have is Keswick Magistrates transfer of licence of the beer house swinside from John Cowman to Robert Atkinson. I 1911 Robert was at The Farmers Arms Portinscale and Elizabeth Thompson was inn keeper at Swinside, but is Robert related to John as his daughter Jane married James Atkinson

So that 1911 I posted above is the correct Robert.

Working back through the census brings us to 1871:

Robert H Atkinson
in the 1871 England Census
Name: Robert H Atkinson
Age: 3
Estimated birth year: abt 1868
Relation: Son
Father's name: Josph Atkinson
Mother's name: Elizabeth Atkinson
Gender: Male
Where born: Keswick, Cumberland, England
Civil Parish: Keswick
Ecclesiastical parish: Crosthwaite
Town: Keswick
County/Island: Cumberland
Country: England
Registration district: Cockermouth
Sub-registration district: Keswick
ED, institution, or vessel: 1
Household schedule number: 12
Piece: 5234
Folio: 5
Page Number: 3
Household Members:
Name Age
Jane Blackburn 31 (different household, mistranscribed on Ancestry)
Josph Atkinson 42
Elizabeth Atkinson 42
Mary E Atkinson 10
George Atkinson 9
Joseph Atkinson 4
Robert H Atkinson 3
Joseph Atkinson 84

There's no sign of a brother James in any of them - nor in 1861.
Nor of a James Atkinson with mms Wright (Elizabeth's mms.)

So maybe some other relative.
