	Does anyone know stated in the rate books when looking for my ancestor Thomas Whitmore, it stated at the top under the heading OCCUPIERS ORGANISATION - India board. What does this mean?

	According to Google it's the Schools Examination Board for the Indian Government. How far back are we talking? In the 1800's it could have been the East India Company.

	I don't really understand, he was a fruitier, what does the schools or even India have anything to with him when he spent his life in London? Sounds a bit strange x

	Certainly sounds a bit odd. Perhaps he supplied fruit to the company? Another thought - did the India Board own the buildings where his shop was, so that he paid his rates to them?

	When you say "everyone on that page", do you mean tenants of different flats in one building or street? Andysmum's suggestion of maybe the India Board owning the building(s) could fit that scenario? I don't understand what "occupier's organisation" means, in any case!

	How sure are you it is your Thomas?, below are on Find My Past, looking at past Thomas Whitmore 'Threads', presuming it would be Westminster, which years did you see?... 	(can't stay at present!, but neither could I AQ, was going to re-check today, but quite a few images, I did the 5 for 1870) Chris :)
