Hi Linda, thanks for your offer. The info I have is a bit sketchy but here goes. Ive got a Charles James Grinham born 1882 in Ryde Isle of Wight, who ive found out moved to Canada (poss Oakville) around 1912ish. My Great Aunt, Beatrice Lavinia Damp, born 1885 on Isle of Wight, married him in 1913 in Oakville. Id love to know if she travelled with him or did he send for her later. Where did she sail from and if poss, when did she move back from Canada. Charles died within 2 yrs of moving there. Thanks in advance. Jo

Many thanks Linda. Yes that's them. Canada I can cope with - but where do I start with Argentina??!!. I guess she was a Governess rather than a governer. Is there a website that does return trips i.e. abroad to the UK? Many thanks for your help KR Bo

Hi Bo, Glad you got them. I was thinking Governess too, I don't know of any sites doing abroad to UK. Try posting a message, someone else may know something. Good Luck Linda

Thanks Linda for what you have found out so far. I now know that Beatrice was in Domestic Service in the 1901 census but I dont know if that was the case 10 yrs after. I wonder if she travelled in her name or did she 'do a runner' if she was supposed to be in service? People did some random things when their O.H disappeared to the other side of the world!! Good luck and thanks again. Jo

Hello Linda, I only know that William C Harris was b in 1890, Herbert G Harris 1894, and Elizabeth 1906. Not very helpful is it? Thanks for your time and efforts, Janice,

Hi Linda, I have been looking for a Jane Cameron (nee Mathi(e)son), b1860 in Scotland, her husband Daniel (no other info) and son Daniel M. Cameron c1880 Islington, Middlesex. Last certain info I have on Jane is 1881 living with her mother Agnes Mathison and baby son. I can't find them after that and am now wondering if they emigrated. Whether you get around to searching this for me or not I would like to say you are a little diamond :-) Cheryl

Hi Linda. This is a real long shot! My great grandmother is said to have been part of a circus troupe. I have lost her and her husband in this country after 1891, but it is almost certain that they travelled to America to perform in Ringling Brothers circus there. I'm sorry I have no dates, but the names are Daisy and James Carroll and possibly their young daughter Ivy K Carroll. Any help much appreciated. Thanks Gill.

Hi Linda Thanks for the info its much appreciated, however, i know i only gave you very vague information, but the results you have sent me the surname you have spelt Durant (ie only one R) the Elijah i was looking for surname was spelt Durrant (two R's) does this make any difference. Please advise, thanks again Ian Hale
