Gemma Report 20 Jul 2007 22:33

Hi Mike Yes I had a quick peek at it this morning before I came to work, but I am going to print it off when I get home and take a proper look. Thank you so much for that. I told my boyfriend (who is Canadian) about it, and he is just amazed you can get stuff that old!!! Anything over 100 years old here is considered pre-historic!!!! Well hopefully we (...or rather you!) might have more luck with Mr. Whitehead with that info? I really want to trace back further...just takes some patience I suppose!!!! Thanks again for your help, Gemma.

Mike. The Leicester Lad.(GC) Report 20 Jul 2007 22:59

Greeting’s & Welcome…………. Paul. I think your on the right lines with the William Fox of 15,Gayton Avenue. Which is off Turner Street and at the bottom of Turner Street On Martin Street was “ Bunny Richards Iron Smelting Works “ And the area was dotted with Engineering Sheet Metal Factories. Which matches up with his Occupation you stated. That Death certificate would certainly prove it’s the William you are searching for. In the meantime I can see if I can find them on the Electoral Rolls held at the Records Office next week. Can you give me a name for the Grand mother ? as by 1933 ~ 36 she would be able to vote and should appear on the Rolls. MIKE.

Greeting’s Sarah …….. Sorry……… But Both births happened in-between censuses… Then there is nothing I can find out about them. Even gazing into my crystal ball. ……. The best thing to do is order those certificates ( Which I have already given you the ref No’s for ) These will give you some more details which will Prove for sure if they are the ones you are searching for. MIKE.

Scouser from Leicester Report 20 Jul 2007 23:28

Thanks Mike my Grandmother was Rose Eva Perry she died in December 1936 and lived in 28 Marriott Road with her mother Emily Jane Perry who died in a mental hospital the towers 1950. My Grandfather was William Taylor no initial on his marriege cert but with the initial F on my mother's cert at time of marriege it say's he was 24 years in 1915 so that would make 1891 his birth date he as I said was a foundry labourer and his father named George was a Brass founder Deceased by 1915. I have searched for a George Brass founder and with the help of a lady named Wendy the only one we found lived in Birmingham but that seem a bit of straw picking. hope this helps Paul just as a foot note after her parents died my mother and her eldest brother worked but the two younger siblings were put in a home My mother lived with a lady she called Aunt Nance, Nancey Hart at no 8 Martin street that you mentioned. I was born there also but we moved to liverpool when I was six months old in 1945. Paul

Mike. The Leicester Lad.(GC) Report 21 Jul 2007 22:43

Greeting's Again Jon O' Kent The first part of my last post was. for those Infants Thats what I wanted to you to confirm So I can see if I can find the parents of these via Parish burial registers. Some times the burial is recorded in the Parish Registers but the Burial took place else where with the Minister in attendance . I then went on to give you the lists of all other s buried with them. Hope this is clearer to understand MIKE.

Hi Mike I am new to this system and delete things I shouldn't. I have catherine and Christophers info. What's baffling me is where is Robert he is not mentioned in the 1841 nor 1851 cencus. Yes he is on christophers marriage cert in 1852 and on Catherines christening cert, but where is he? I would like to know where he was, Thanks for the help Linda.
