Lavinia HAMILTON married Samuel ELLIOT on 28/9/1891 at SNEINTON St. MATHIAS. I don't see any children on the parish register but there is a Samuel Elliott on the 1901 census aged 11 (born 1890).

'Could I have a look-up for Henry Marriott (born around 1752) who married Mary Bowler please? Im thinking it was around the 1787 mark? In Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts. Any details would be greatly appreciated. Rebekah x' ________________________________________________ Hi Rebekah Well, I have found a number of children baptised in Sutton with father Henry Marriott and mother Mary. They are: Edward 25/11/1788 Samuel 24/7/1791 Elizabeth 21/7/1793 Thomas 12/4/1795 James 4/7/1797 Mary 7/7/1799 George 13/9/1806 All dates are baptisms, not births. I see that IGI shows a marriage but my parish records do not. Also, I note that IGI shows two different family names for the spouse .... Mary Bowler and also Mary Shaw. I don't know if you have any other info that we can use here.

Jenny To add to my message, I have found 4 baptisms for the children of William & Sarah: Elizabeth - 6/6/1841 Ann - 24/12/1843 Hannah - 29/4/1848 William 1/9/1850 All were born in Finningley, Notts and William's occupation is listed as 'labourer'. Abode is listed as 'Awkley' or 'Auckley'

Charles

Charles Report 18 Mar 2007 13:50

Dawn I suspect your Charles Brooks may have been born in Bolton, Lancashire. See census extract above.

Jenny My apologies ... the Gainsborough and Isle of Axholme listings are pre-1837. I should have stated that and I have amended the title accordingly. That said, your Dodson Pantry is an interesting one. The only entry I could find for him was his marriage (on Ancestry). Neither could I find an entry for Sarah Brown or William Binns on my listings. Sorry I could not be of more help.

Hello Charles, Thank you for your kind offer. Could you look for the marriage of Dodson PANTRY to Mary Ann ASHLEY abt 1882. Dodson born Haxey and Mary Ann born Belton. The couple lived in Auckley and the church for that area was in Finningley. Also, if you have time, could you see if there is a marriage in June 1833 for William BINNS born Auckley 1813 and Sarah BROWN born Misson, 1811. Many thanks in advance. Jenny
