Can you check parish records for Norton Cuckney, Notts? I am looking for any info regarding Henry Harvey. Not sure when he was born, I am guessing around 1780. He married Ann Marlow in 1810 and died I think in 1839. Thanks Sam

Elaine Just wanted to add to my previous message. Reuben Wand was the son of Stephen Wand and Millicent ? and was baptised 18/9/1809 in Newark St. Mary. The register shows a number of siblings with the father's name shown variously as 'Stephen', 'John' and 'Thomas Stephen' Wand. In all cases the mother is Millicent and in one case her maiden name is listed as 'Rippin'. Baptism dates are all betweem 1803 and 1815. That said, I still cannot find a marriage. Stephen was baptised on 2/22/1782 also in Newark St. Mary. His parents were John Wand and Ann Mosley - married 27/7/1779 in Newark St Mary. Siblings are Ann (1781), Elizabeth (1784), Sarah (1784) and Robert (1792). All dates are baptisms.

This is an interesting one. While I cannot find a marriage for a Charles Dove married an Elizabeth I have found children with father Charles Dove and mother Elizabeth with baptisms from 1868 - 1897. The occupations of the father varies to the extent that there may well be two Charles Doves in Sutton - occupations include: framework knitter, sawyer, carpenter, labourer, water inspector, stoker and miner4. The only birth close to your date is Lillie Dove born to Charles Dove and mother Elizabeth. Date of birth 1/9/1878 and baptised on 24/8/1880. The only marriage for an Elizabeth Wharmby around your date is to a Samuel Allcock, also in Sutton.

Charles this charles of mine was a Coal Miner His and elizabeths children were born Daniel 1879 Elizabeth 1882 Charles 1886 Kate 1890. And heres the confusing bit his parents were Daniel Dove and Mary Wharmby and I am sure I have seen it somewhere that he was a Wharmby and changed his name after they married as he was born 1858 and Daniel and Mary married 1859. Good fun my lot arent they lol
