Dea, how could I feel low with all the great Tips board family around me? On the contrary, I felt it was time to remind people of the importance of solidarity. With even Heather questioning her own positivity I would hate to think we might lose sight of what we have. My first few months of family history research was a solitary, arduous task. Then I discovered the delights of sharing my quest, and I've never looked back. This genealogy game wouldn't be half as thrilling without you guys.

Some know this some don't so apologies if you have heard it before. I started on tips just before xmas 2005,having read a heck of a lot of threads i started to contribute, mostly by repeating things i had read previously, and by learning the hard way. I couldn't and wouldn't name the people who have helped, there are far too many too list, and omitting a name here and there would not be fair. Each and every one of you is a friend, and i wouldn't have it any other way. Glen

Well said Paul, beautifully put. If only everyone could feel the same. Although even in the best of families you get the members who don't conform. In all the time I have been a member I have never been made to feel a nuisance asking for help, I have felt nothing but friendship for me. I try to repay this by ofering help in return (I am slow so am usually beaten to it by others with faster fingers!!) I now have Ancestry so hope to be more help in the future. Ann Glos

I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! You can't hide behind a false identity you know. And who spurned who? The table was booked, the champagne chilled and I spent all evening watching the door. When they started putting the chairs on the tables I knew you weren't coming.

Did I say positivity? I meant sexuality. Hey Paul, you didnt need to go to all that palava, a can of coke and bus stop bench would have done the trick.

Ah, but the savings on those would be one of the benefits of an 'older woman' Paul.

Well said Paul. I've been a member here for several years but I don't get time to visit the Boards everyday. The TIPs Board is usually a good place to vist with lots of helpful threads and occasional outbursts of silliness. I love it when there's lots going on and couldn't resist joing with all you regulars on election night. There may be some bouts of whining and / or pettiness but that's what happens in families from time to time. The main thing is to deal quickly with anything unpleasant and then to do your bit to have more good times. It seems like there's a good spirit here at the moment. Long may it last. Louise
