Mike Brilliant, many thanks, You've always been streets ahead of us, thats why we keep coming back for more, whilst you remain in front we will keep chasing. What on earth will you do whilst the Records Office is closed, or is that a silly question?. Regards Jon O'Kent '''FAO''' Loz O'Leicester Welcome to the 'O' club Jon O'Kent

Thank you Mike that has proved very useful confirming some details. but also hopefully giving me a little extra to go on. It's a shame the records office is closed but I guess it will give you a well earned break. I have done a little digging on the LDS site and am wondering if we're on the wrong track with the Quorn Marriage. There appears to be a number of Turlington familes in Quorn and I found an entry on the lDS with someone naming parents of William as John Waldrom and Ann Burton in Kegworth. A bit of a dillema really not knowing if the right William and Elizabeth are even on the census. arrggh. you're welcome John ,theres a few of us out there :)

Mike Was there an epidemic in 1849 in Leicester because I found a Thomas & Elizabeth Henfrey both died in March 1849 and a son George Henfrey died April 1849. Can't find Thomas or Elizabeth on any of the census's but did find 3 daughters living together in the 1861 census. I was wondering if it was illness or possibly a tragic accident.

Hi Mike, Many thanks for the extra Fern data, it could prove useful. I will keep a look out for any results from the Record Offce. I am still finding new Ferns so I may be asking for more help in the future if that is OK. Yours, Hilary

Hi, I didn't think that I would want another look-up so soon, but have just found another possible son for John and Ann Fern. He seems to have married an Ann Bishop in q4 of 1848, possibly at Coleorton, (the district is Ashby de la Zouche) so if you have these records, do they give the name and occupation of this father please. Many thanks, Hilary

Hi Mike I'm surprised the pencil is still usable with all you've done. Sorry can't say O' club without a smile on my face..*cough*cough* hmm where was I?? I've just checked the 1841 census and the William and Elizabeth waldrom/n I named before appear to be the right ones for the children I mentioned. That is Mary, Jane, Eleanor and Elizabeth. This is because William and Elizabeth have a 2 year old Betsy Brown staying with them and I believe that it is the daughter of my Jane Waldrom who married a William Brown. My main hope was to connect Ann to the family as that would clear up the family mystery for sure. So Ann's birth would probably be the next best thing which should be in Leicester according to the census'. Tara for now :) and thanks again for all your help :) Loz O' Leicester Just for the curious, One of John O' Kent's Tomkins is my gtgt uncle.

Thanks Mike you a great guy for finding out so much on the Henfrey's There are so many Thomas Henfreys I don't know where to start to send for death certs The dates of Thomas & Elizabeth death and age are different for 1849 so that eliminates that they both died at the same time. John
