Wendy Report 18 Aug 2006 18:07

Should be Thringston, and I found her on the 1841 census as Jane Jacques married to Joseph Jacques, and on the 1851 census (Hodsons Court) where she is a widow. (You found me the marriage in 1825 in St. Nicholas, Leicester.) Wendy

*** F.A.O.***...... Barbra Dodds.. Greeting's Again Barbra...... Here below are the messages passed onto me from my colleague from the other site using your details posted on here :- OK I'm going to play devil's advocate here...... I've found the missus (Monney/Monny Ann) and children in Halam. Nottinghamshire in 1841 and 1851 ... all born Redmile according to the 1851. Do you think that Barbara realises that o.t.p.( Of this Parish) on marriage doesn't necessarily mean they were born in that parish? He could have been living and working in Belvoir. Don't seem to be many Dixon’s around the Belvoir/Woolsthorpe area - but there are a lot from Halam, including a William 1775. Close enough to be a possible? I'm wondering if the move to Halam (assuming I have the right family) was a return to his roots ..... Christening found :- William Dixon. 12th. Feb. 1775. Halam. Father Richard. I have the Phillimores early Marriages for Lincs and the entry says:- Woolsthorpe. Wm Dixon, of Belvoir, & Monney (signs Monny) Ann Tomisman 16 June 1817 Could well be a second marriage as William was pushing 40? In fact, there are some children on the IGI born to William and Elizabeth Dixon prior to 1817 but I didn't look too closely ……. Few more snippets :- Ann Parnham buried Lambley 05/07/1854 age 28 Eliza Dixon/Nicholson ended up here in Balderton where I live. Greeting's Again Jon O'Kent ..... Sorry to hear your having problems with your Adobe viewer YES...This happened to me a while back now You have to go to the Adobe Webb site and down load the FREE Adobe 7.0 down load it to your C: Drive > Programme files Then it fixed it for me...... MIKE.

Barbra Report 21 Aug 2006 09:08

mike Many thanks for your time and trouble, and please accept my apologies for not coming back to you sooner. The Dixon family, marriages and burials all tie in with what I'd already found and/or been given by another descendant. The first William Dixon born at Halam is news to me though. Ann Parnham (nee Dixon) is my direct line Ancestor. The main thing we were trying to find was a place of birth for William Dixon. Thank you again for all your time and trouble. And please also thank your informant from the other site for his(her?) efforts. Its at least given me a bit more to go on. Barbara PS there are at least 3 of us on this site who will benefit when one of us finally ties William down!

Hi Mike Was wondering if you could have a look at a marriage licence unless it is too long winded, will post details if you tell me it's alright. Also, have a Florence Kate Neal Wright who is illegitimate but all census returns have her down as Florence Kate Moore, dau of Thomas and Mary Elizabeth. I have found her marriage to Henry Arthur Williamson on Freebmd Marriages Mar 1891 Williamson Henry Arthur Leicester 7a 337 Wright Florence Kate Leicester 7a 337 I wondered if they appeared on any of your discs as they did not marry at St Margs, 1891 census has them living at 29 Upper Brunswick Street with her sister Edith Moore. Thanks Elaine
