Hello, I would be grateful for any extra details than are given on IGI for the baptism of Hannah Fern at St Margaret's. Leicester on 27/11/1822. She is the daughter of John and Ann Fern, and info on where they live or occupatiion would be so welcome. They may be a canal family. Thank you Hilary

John Report 26 Sep 2006 20:05

Mike Thanks for your quick reply. Could well be Mary WIDDOWSON, if it shows William & Mary TOMKINS on the register then George must have been born after 1834, that could be interesting as on Georges marriage cert in 1851 he states his age as 22, don't lke the look of that !!!! Regards Jon O'Kent

Hello again Mike I'd like to say thanks again for helping me with my Peacocks sometime ago but wondered if I could ask for another favour. :) I'm trying to find the parents of an Ann Waldrom/Waldram who married Christopher Peacock in St margarets Leicester in 1831. Her birth date is approx 1804. I have a family of Waldrams in the St leonard district which I wonder if she belongs to them, but I can't find her birth. I believe Ann registered her illegitimate son William in St leonards in dec 1828. The family of Waldroms I have are parents William born c1766 and Elizabeth born c1781 (not sure about dates for parents though, could be the wrong William and Elizabeth) their children Elizabeth born 1810, Mary born 1812, Eleanor born 1815 and Jane born 1818. Any help would be greatly appreciated : ). Loz P.S Hi to John Tomkins glad to see you're still on the Tomkins hunt :)

Mike Re latest query. Do not think Thomas is George's brother, agreed both sons of a William but William's occupation and address differs within one month of the marriage of Thomas and George. Had George been living with parents on 51 census then I would have no problem. Regards Jon O'Kent Hi Loz Yes still at it, too many George's, Joseph's and William's, driving me round the bend, it is only Mike's help that is keeping me sane !!!! Jon

Mike I am looking for Thomas & Elizabeth Henfrey who I believe were married in St Margarets Leicester in 1832. Come to a dead end about Thomas or where he came from. I went to the LDS library in Salt lake last month while on hols, but couldn't find them in St Margarets, Could you help Josephine

Hilary645633 Report 27 Sep 2006 23:14

Mike, Thank you so much for that baptism information. If you have marriage transcriptions for St Margaret's, can you possibly have a look for a marriage for John and Ann Fern possibly around 1814. It might just be a long shot however as they were boat people, and other children were baptised at Braunston. Thank you Hilary

Hi Mike Thanks for looking for me. I have to be honest and say that I found the Children on the LDS site. I did think that the William and Elizabeth I found might not be the parents due to the age of William. It's a possiblity that the quorndon marriage could be them. ho hum Thanks again Loz Oh for a bit of originality in the names eh John ; )
