I'm probably the last person to discover this, but just incase another transcriber on BMD out there hasn't ..... did you know that if you enter just the district number in the district column (eg 3b) your pick list will cone up with all the 3b's which, once you know the possibles, can make the district blindingly obvious!! Brilliant tip Mavis, never thought of that! I just sit there straining my eyes figuring out one letter at a time, then checking that it is right against the district number on the actual FreeBMD site lol

It was pure chance, I decided to leave one & come back to it, but for some reason, entered just the code, and lo & behold this pick list came up with districts with that code. Could have probably done a extra couple of pages in the time that would have saved me in the last few weeks. Happy transcribing Mavis

Good tip Mavis. Sorry to say I sussed that out and didnt come on to tell anyone...OOpsss Sorry ladies (Goes and sits in naughty corner) OR another way of doing it is if you can see the first letter eg . M then type Ma and look through the list for possibles in Picklist if not then try Me and look there and Mo Mi Mu until you find the place....I have had to do it that way a couple of times as picklist doesnt always show every place if you type in just the number eg ,3b Loopy :~)

Denise Report 2 Aug 2006 20:45

Hi Mavis and Lesley and all, We have a new member called Kim who has answered on the other thread (no 13) I think ? Two threads its confusing lol Can I ask a question please. If you have a name thats spread over two lines on a printed sheet, (not handwritten) do you put all the names on one line. eg Jon, Philip, Jack, Fred and then the surname. This is what I have been doing but then the verifier tells me I am out of sequence???? Any of you know. Thanks Denise x
