hiya, with regards to the arnold/housekeeper living together was more respectable to do that, than admit you had a live-in-lover, which was often frowned upon. where did sanderson marriage take place??? I still cant find the arnolds on 51, have tried wildcarding surname but stil nothing, even tried searcing under kids names/anns name/johns place of birth, absolutley zilch, my only other thought is that they are lodging and have been enumerated in lodge keepers name, julie

Marriage was from complete images. Thats my problem the family has Jane Sanderson (head) Widow in 1861 with her 2 children. I found 2 corresponding births on IGI for the children William and Elizabeth 1854 and 1856. Father Robert Sanderson mother Jane.

Have looked for him on 1851 but can't find the family at all. I'm going to look to see if i can find the marriage of Willam Arnold and Mary Harland....I can't understand why she is down as housekeeper!! Was that normal? The children started off as Harlands then changed there name to Arnold

It's not just you. I can happily spend half the night flicking between here and Ancestry, trying to track down my elusive rellies, then trying to track down someone else's, then just popping back here for a chat, then searching a few more...

Is this him in 1871:- William Arnold abt 1848 Whitby, Yorkshire, England Head Whitby Yorkshire Address Henrietta Street. You say he married a Harland. She didn't have a sister called Margaret did she? My husband has a Margaret Harland from Whitby in his tree. Some of hubby's family lived in Henrietta Street too I think. Kath. x
