Pain Report 2 May 2006 21:31

Hi Enda I have 3 different sets of ancestors that originate from Ireland and so far I am having to give up on at least one line. Hopefully I might have some luck with this line (with help from you) I have a Robert Condon on the 1881c and his wife Elizabeth. It says that Robert was born in Wixford, Ireland about 1840 and that his wife, Elizabeth was born in Armagh, Ireland about 1852. On their marriage certificate it said that Robert was a mariner, his fathers name was Martin Condon who was a ship wright. Elizabeths maiden name was Houston and her fathers full name was John Houston and her mothers name was Eliza. Would you be able to find out who Roberts mother was or when either of his parents were born. Or would you be able to find out what Eliza Houstons maiden was? I know this looks long but I was trying to put all the information I had. If you could find anything out I would be really grateful. If I could help you with anything please let me know Thankyou Jayne

Hello Enda. Thank you for your very kind offer. My Grt.Grandad married 2 women (not at once)!!!from Ireland. All I know is their names---which are Sarah Harrison born in 1822 in Ireland. English 1851 census has her living in Sutton England. Secondly was --Sarah Garratey born in 1831 in Ireland. she I know was in England by 1852, and also living in Sutton England. As I have no way of knowing where they are from it has been difficult to try and trace them. They are my main ' brick wall!! in family tree. I would be delighted to know more on Sarah Garratey. especially out of the two as she was my Grandfathers mother. If I can be of help to you with look ups --just mail. I have world wide sub. on Ancestry----any help? Thank you again. Pam.

Can you help I read earlier that if the ancestors migrated to England that the area they are born in Ireland would be on the 1901 census, unfortunatley my Tynan's just incovienentlty put Ireland, Where do I go from here have signed up to various different web sites but have lots of Michael Tynans with just the lesser of the house on Griffens etc. does this mean I will never find them ? What can I do to find them ? will it show on marriage certificate as I do have a marriage St Geoarges Southwark 1866

Hi Edna, Any chance of finding my grandparents on either census who I believe lived in the Ropewalk area of Sligo. There names were Michael and Briget Somers. My grandfather died in 1915 aged 26 so would have been born 1879. My Grandmother was Reilly. I would be so grateful but fully understand if you are unable to help due to being inaunadated with requests from people wishing to take up your very kind offer.

Hello Enda, It's so good of you to do look ups for people when it's difficult to get Irish information.I was wondering if you could look p Annie cecelia O'Hare in Belfast, sorry,i don't have an address. She was baptised a Catholic, was a convert in 1920 at St Malachy's Church, was a convert but i still think she was quite young.I know this isn't much to go on and I understand if you find anything, Wendy

I think the fact that alot of people have ignored what she has offered and have posted all kinds of requests for the whole of Ireland hasn't helped. Please people read what the person is offering before posting for a look up, as it can become quite daunting and frustrating, especially when Enda had been so kind to offer a look up. I know some people are desperate for help. But she has clearly posted what she can lookup and so many people have ignored her. Looking up records is a very difficult process and very time consuming, especially for Ireland. Enda has stated she can look up the 1901 and 1911 census only with an address, but the majority of the requests to her have nothing to do with the census and the majority that do have no addresses. If someone offered you a cup of tea, you wouldn't then ask for a loaf of bread. It's the same thing. So please please read EXACTLY what is being offered, before posting a request. ENDA if your out there, don't worry about the lookups, just let everyone know you are okay.
