Jan, These are the only Toveys I can find on the 1841 census TOVEY ROBERT M 20 GLOUCESTERSHIRE DEAN FARM HATHEROP GLOUCESTERSHIRE A grocer living with Mary Tovey age 50 and William age 20 a plasterer TOVEY ROBERT M 25 GLOUCESTERSHIRE BUTTER ROW RODBOROUGH STROUD MINCHINHAMPTON GLOUCESTERSHIRE A labourer Living with Pricilla age 22 No William, Fanny or Lawrence Hiles to be found, Sorry, Kat

Hi Katarzyna, It would be fabulous if you could look up an ancestor for my husband. The details we have are as follows (we've reached a complete dead end from Australia): Name: William WOOD Born: 1809 (so approx 32 at time of census) Place: From farming stock near Cornwall Brother: John Wood Emigrated to Australia prior to 1844 as a free settler. Somerset , Somerton ( Reg Dist LANGPORT ) GIBBS SAMUEL School Master aged 51 & his WIFE ( if she is ALIVE ...as Samuel was a Widower aged 61 in 1851 census , living West Street with his son Alban aged 22 Ag.Lab. ) GIBBS ALBAN aged 12 Both shown as Born .....Somerton in 51 & 61 census ? Hi Kat, Could you please have a look on 1841 census wales for me. Looking for William Bowen about 1801, cadoxton juxta neath ,glamorgan, and his wife Hannah about 1802 same place. I have them on all the other census but not this one. Thank you in advance. Helen

Thank you Kat, I don't think that can be her as, because there are children in the 1851 I am sure William her husband was still alive in 1841. I wonder if they were staying over the border in Devon or Somerset? Oh well, back to the drawing board. UPDATE Just doing a bit of detective work in my records and they had a daughter born in 1842 in Misterton, which is in Somerset, sorry to waste your time with Dorset, they did move around an awful lot this famiy,, a habit which was continued by the next generation. OK got them now, theyw ere in Misterton, thank you for your help. Thanks again ann Glos

Hi could you look for Bernard Clewlow of Stoke-on-Trent born c1838 I have him on 1881 but cannot find on 71, 61 Or 51 Thanks Michael ps sorry about the pm Hi again, once more I would like to apologise for the pm,I realised what I'd done Bernard was not his name, wrong branch, it was Herbert married to Ann with 3 children Herbert, c1865 Alice, c1874and Albert,c1879 all were born in Stoke-On-Trent. He is shown as a carter and coal dealer in 1881 that's all I've got Thanks Michael

Could you look for the following 2 please:- Jeremiah and Mary Boyles in possibly Clchester, Essex aged 40's, jeremiah is a Cordwainer/Boot-shoe maker and Alfred strickland in the Surrey area, aged 20's although born in Wareham, dorset isn't there in 1841 so think he may have moved to Surrey already. thanks Carrie:)
