Hi Jess Thanks for the offer. I am trying to locate a John (Thomas) HAllett in the 1851 census. I have the rest of his family as listed below but he is not there: George HALLETT head c. 1800 Romford, Essex Betsey (Elizabeth) wife c.1810, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk MAria dau 1849, LAmbeth, Surrey Louisa dau 1846 LAmbeth, Surrey George son, 1845 (this should be 1838 according to other data ans I think this may be JOhn but.....) Living at 11 Apollo Buildings, Gloucester Street, Lambeth, Surrey I have tracked a John Thomas HALLETT in Essex wioth a birth c. 1842. Please could you have a look at this one and see who he is with (maybe grandson?) as George senior was born in Essex. Many thanks Louise

Hi Jess Thanks for your help. Just to confuse the issue even further I have been through the entire bmd on Ancestry from 1837-1846 looking for both George and John and can find neither of them!! I found Maria in 1849 and now have her bc which confirms parentage. There is a John in born 1838, Lambeth, but I have eliminated him as parents are wrong. Thanks again. Hi Jess I have requested lookups on 1842 but no-one can find them in Surrey, Esses or London. I personally think they were beamed in by aliens!! I have just discovered my son has applied for free trial on ancestry so can spend the next 3 days (he's only just told me so I've lost 11 days worth of searching!!) searching for them myself. Many thanks for your time today, it's greatly appreciated, I think I may have to go the records office for Lambeth sometime and just trawl through the microfiche. Thanks again. Louise

No problem Jess, thanks for trying, it was much appreciated. I'm starting to think the mother may have died near to this time so perhaps the older and younger children and the father ended up split.
