Was going to add this to my posting on number 6, but thought it would bring that one infront of 7. So..... I have check with Wigston RO but they only hold a few records for Shenton. Do you think the rest will be easy to track down and view?? Have no idea what the procedure is to be able to do this, any suggestions. Thanks JoJo.

Aplogies for not being on line to answer your post last night, Mike. Normally on line till 3am, but I had been up since 5am yesterday and fell asleep! Thanks for the quick response, lots there for me to think about. I am assuming that the 6-year-old William is living with his mother and grandfather. Elizabeth is a tailoress in later census. I am now wondering why Mary and Jane would be put to lodge with, in Marys case, an unmarried farmer. Wonder why the Abell families were chosen and what had happened. I suppose the parish records may hold some answers. Also I wonder if there would be basterdy bonds (hope that is the right word!) for Wolvey, will give them a ring to find out. Thanks again JoJo

Greeting's Again Donna...... Sorry my St. Margaret's Marriages only goes up to 1897.....Grrr Having looked at Marriage Ref No. On Free BMD.... There is only one other couple on there with the same Ref No's and I'm lead to believe that by that date they were grouping couples together so as to make it easier to sort out who married who... So it could well be it's St. Margaret's Church.... But have looked up both Mary & Henry on the 1891.Census Henry is on Marjorie Street off Belgrave Road ( RG 13 / 2988 / 142 / Page. 10.) Mary is in Palmer Street Belgrave.... ( RG 13 / 2994 / 5 / Page. 2. ) So try St. Peters Parish Church Belgrave......Aswell Good Luck...... MIKE.

Greeting's Again Jo Jo ...... I too was under the impression that the Elizabeth Iliffe in Wolvey 1841. was either William's daughter or Daughter -in - Law...... As for why Mary & Jane was lodging with another Family back then ... I would think that in those days..... Village life was a very close knit community....... Maybe that the Marriott's worked for Abell's at sometime ? MIKE.

Thanks for the Illife information Mike, so much now to go at. Just wonder why there is nothing for Shenton. Checked on Hugh Wallis, but found nothing of any use. Will look again in case I missed anything or it is spelt incorrect. I am assuming that William and Mary Marriott (parents of Mary) are both dead in 1851 as cannot find them on any census, but cannot find their death. Wonder if they left the country!! Thanks again Mike, regards JoJo.

Greeting's Again Jo Jo.... The reason of No Leicestershire death returns ? Because these disks were made by several Family History Societies together and they could opt out..... So that they could make their own disks and thus raise funds... I'm wading through the Villages around Shenton on LRFHS disks..... as I type..... MIKE.
