sorry debbie missed it! Added by Debbie Skeet on 29/09/2005 20:47:13 Hi Jess Thanks for your kind offer - can you work your magic for me, please? I found a family on 1871, only to lose them in subsequent years. I've tried every possible trick I can think of, but no luck. Here they are in 1871: Kate Ramsey abt 1833 Bethnal Green, Middlesex, England Wife Bethnal Green London George Ramsey abt 1835 Bethnal Green, Middlesex, England Head Bethnal Green London Kate Bamsey abt 1860 Bethnal Green, Middlesex, England Daughter Bethnal Green London John Bamsey abt 1864 Bethnal Green, Middlesex, England Son Bethnal Green London The Kates are also known as Catherines, and the surname should be Ramsey. Fingers crossed! Debbie

Hi Jess, I hope you are feeling a lot better today, I have seen when checking the boards that for various reasons you have not been feeling 100%. I was just checking whether you had had time to look for my Hewitts for me. Don't worry though if you are not feeling up to it cos its a difficult one, (well it has been for me anyway). Keep your chin up. Best wishes Jenny

where is the request Jenny ? ** got it- will look again now Dellamy HEWITT (Dellamy spelt different ways and he is also known as Dally and Daley), head, age 20,coalminer Elizabeth, age 20 Mark, age 5 Martha, age 3 Joseph age 1 Thomas, age 9 months? Apparently 1851 for the district either doesn’t exist or is illegible. 1861 cant find them anywhere although there is another Dallamy Hewitt on 1861 but he is too young to be the one I am looking for but with a name like that he must be related in some way. By 1861 there should be a daughter Ann HEWITT, born according to later census, in Gawber, Barnsley, abt 1846. By the time of Ann’s marriage to George CARR in 1866 her father is deceased. Daley Hewitt as he is called on her marriage certificate. In 1881, there is a Joe HEWITT age 41, born Higham, Barnsley living as a boarder with Ann and her husband, George Carr and family at 47 Providence St, Barnsley. I have assumed that this Joe HEWITT is Ann’s brother, son of Dallamy and Elizabeth shown on 1841 census. This is a definite brick wall for me so any help would be so very much appreciated

Sorry Jess - my bad. Had a rough day yesterday. Let's try this again. Looking for Annette Hewetson/Hewitson in 1861 and 1871. From info I have been given she was born in London around 1794. Her husband died in 1860 so she would have been a widow on both census. Her daughter Adelaide was born c1827 and died c1865, so she may be with her in 1861. Thanks. Margaret

Laura - have put your request together with the adittional info you have given me and am struggling to make any sense out of it!100 years adrift somewhere - which is correct? 1) Could you look in the 1971 census for a ANN WEBB born 1863. her parents are JACOB AND MARY WEBB born in CAMBRIDGESHIRE thats all the info i have. i know it may be a long shot but its worth a try if you dont mind look seeing what comes up, i do know that ANN married in castle camps in camb'shire which shows that she or her parents did not move out of the area. anything comes up let me know. CHEERS. laura 2)oh rite here is the info i have on Ann. She Married a John Cowell on 7 march 1784 in castle camps, camb'shire. she was born in 1763 and christened 3 apr 763. as a recap her parents were called Jacob and Mary dont have mothers maiden. i know they were born in cambridgeshire. hope this enough. soz did not get bak to you sooner been out all day.
