Sharon Report 11 Aug 2005 23:09

Hi from New Zealand Would appreciate help finding RUSHTON ancestors in UK. They should be on 1871 census of Birmingham (Great Bridge, West Bromwich, Tipton, Dudley areas). Samuel George Rushton, age 35, Father (b1836c) Jane (nee Martin), 39, mother (b1832c) Samuel, about 5, son Albert Henry, 2 or 3, son (bDec 1869) Maybe another daughter or two. Samuel Snr, wife, Albert Henry and daughters emigrated to NZ before the 81 census (think) but left Samuel Jnr behind to be taken care of by Mr Aird of the Wellington Tube Works in Great Bridge. This line of the family is the one I am trying to trace. Your help much appreciated if you can. Regards Sharon Rushton, Auckland, NZ

Hi! Many thanks for the info & look ups & trying hard with theses two. The marriage I have the certificate already & Willis's birth, What I can't find on him is the right page no. I tried getting his death certificate when he died in 1904 age 3, but GRO cannot find him. 1837 online have a misprint of him. I'm going to put their entry down 'don't go down that road with these rellies' cos they are a frustrating lot! Many thanks again Jess for info, Cherylx

From : Graham Subject : Look up 1861 Census Can I take you up on your offer for an 1861 census look up. I am trying to trace John Thomas dob c 1828. On the 1871 census he was living in Bersham (near Wrexham) Wales occupation miner. He is married to Margaret (born c1825/26)and has a son Peter (born Bersham) who is 10 in 1871 so should have been born 1860/61 and I am hoping that he is on the 1861 census. I am having trouble locating the birth certificate for John's other son, Evan, (who is my Great Grandfather) who was born c 1862/63. I have a birth certificate for an Evan Thomas but the mothers name is Mary Ann and not Margaret. I was wondering, if the census entry can be found, what the entry gives and what John's wife's name is in 1861? Hope you can make sense of this.
