Hello Mandy If John James Miller was born in Gloucestershire then this could be his birth entry. However, I cannot find him on the 1901 census. There are plenty of George & Elizabeth Millers in the Gloucestershire area, but none of them have a child called James, do you know any names of his siblings? Regards Sue John J Miller Birth Q3 1894 District of Thornbury County: Gloucestershire Vol 6a Page 212

Many thanks Susan, I'm sure this is my grandad, really strange but I have also checked the 1901 census and can find no trace of him or his family. I know he had a brothers one was called Alfred, that's about all I know. So many questions i wish I asked him before he died.

hi susan i would be really grateful if you could try find some information on the 'humble' family, especially: dorothy, born around 1874 ruth, born around 1892 helena, born ? these are all rough dates that i have tried piecing together from bmd. if you could also find the names of their parents, then that would be brilliant. i am told that dorothy didn't marry, so there is a possibility that she still may be living with her family (if she was born in the year that i have put). i think they were all born in the durham/northumberland area, possibly bishop auckland. any information would be invaluable. thanks pam
