English Bob Report 1 Jul 2005 18:58

Jess, How about my latest theory? The c1823 Loughborough Thomas Cooke surely wasn’t the only child of the his father Thomas....so I have been back into the LDS for some weeks..and done some maths, geography and elimination.. i.e. how many Thomas begat Thomas across 1820+ - 10yrs... my deductions give me a family group. With a village marriage 1815, mum (I‘ll keep her full name for a while), dad Thomas, an oldest son William 1815, daughter Mary 1816 and then Thomas 1820 & possibly one other. The best bit is that all the Leicester Baptisms are recorded as at least two years on from birth dates. Therefore my recent awfully difficult request.. Bob, ps. new pseudonym for me as well. Be in and out of threads tonight but will check every half hour to make sure everyone is behaving.

Thanks very much, Jess. We have come to the conclusion that most of the Taylor family must have left the country in the 1860's. Best wishes, Bernard
