HI JESS I HAVE JUST JOINED 1837 WEB SITE BUT HAVE NO CREDITS TO DO A FULL SEARCH, SO ALL I TYPED IN WAS: MARRAGES FOR THOMAS JAMES TO MARY JANE IN 1899-1908 AND CANT FIND ANYTHING, ALSO WITH PERCY MITCHELL AND LILLY EMMA WOODS IN 1925-1931. NOT TO WORRY I WILL SEE IF I CAN GET THE INFO FROM SOME-WHERE WITHIN THE FAMILY IF I CAN. IS IT POSSIBLE TO DO ANOTHER NAME SEARCH FOR ME: ALBERT EDWARD ERNEST SCRIVENER b 1900 BEDFORDSHIRE MARRIED TO A JANE HARRIS b 1900, CHILDREN: HUBERT HORCES SCRIVENER b 14/7/1926, AUDREY SCRIVENER, MARJORIE SCRIVENER AND PAULINE SCRIVENER. BUT YET AGAIN I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHEN ALBERT AND JANE WERE MARRIED SORRY. REGARDS LYN.

Amy Report 24 Jun 2005 13:06

Could you possibly do a lookup on the 1901 census for a Walter John Curtis (or John Walter Curtis) Im not sure which way round the name is because i have him on two certificates both of which say something different. He was born in 1893 and his father was also called Walter John Curtis. They probably would have been living in Kent, possibly in Gravesend. Thanks very much. Amy

jess, thanks for doing the look ups for me .not that it makes sense at the moment ,i have printed it out and i will have a good look at it . by the way the question you asked wondering if he married as potter or potter -bond . this is one of the reason;s this family has been a bit of a pain as my g.grandad was born in 1878 registered charles edgar potter -bond but on his marraige he dropped the bond for some reason wonder how many of the other potter-bond 's did the same . very grateful for your time and effort catherine

Hi Jess, first time on GR. Wondered if you could advise me what to do next. Done some research for family tree. Back to getting death certificates for paternal grandparents, but these do not give me any info on where whey were born and married. Ive got JOHN EDWARD CALLAN B.1871 DIED AGE 72 13/5/43 married MARY ELLEN BRADY b.1874 died 80 yrs 2/2/54. All relatives who could help are deceased. My father included, who gave me the impression they were from Ireland. When I try the websites for Ireland, they ask for place of birth which I do not have. Which census do I look at and where do I go from here. Do I try looking for a marriage certificate in Manchester, as this is where they lived, but they may have been married in Ireland before they came to UK. iF YOU GET TIME TO REPLY, AS YOU SEEM TO BE A VERY BUSY AND POPULAR FELLOW, I SHOULD BE INDEED VERY GRATEFUL. Rose Callan (Fernandes)
