Tracing an Address in 1910

Does anyone know how I can trace the occupants of an address. My G.grandmother died in 1910 and I have just received her d.cert, which gives her address as 49 Hildyard Terrace, New Shildon. The d.cert gives the informant as Fred Blake, her son-in-law who was "present at the death". This was not where Fred Blake and family lived in 1901 census. I am trying to trace her son Christopher, both she and Christopher "disappeared" after the 1891 census until she turned up dead in 1910. Also does anyone know how I can trace if Christopher went into the Army? Thanks, Cheryl
