To one addicted Mandy from another addicted Mandy ...!! Yes, you're right, it's totally addictive for some reason. I hated history at school and never imagined for one moment that I would enjoy this hobby so much. Perhaps I'm having a midlife crisis??? Mandy :))

Kat, now thats interesting - Ive got such aching legs from knee down and throbbing - I wondered if it was to do with sitting at this damn pc for hours on end. (Had googled for all the dreadful diseases possible - which has worried me sick). I feel dreadfully guilty, I am up at 6 a.m. and first thing I do is switch this on. I then have to wait like a dog desperate for a walk until my hubby goes to work so I can get back on here again. Its like having a secret lover!! But much more fun. Anyone else got pains in lower legs. I even had a throbbing big toe yesterday (googled gout) but thats gone and the legs are back again today.

Re aching legs - and yes, i am addicted too. lol Make sure your chair is at right height so that it doesnt cut off the circulation at the back of your legs. If your chair isnt adjustable, then try raising your feet on a stool or something similar - to take the pressure of the back of your legs/knees on your chair.

Hi Mandy, Have been exactly the same for the last year! Up till 2 am last night adding photos to Family Historian as well! I console myself with the fact that I am doing all this research on behalf of the family and it will hopefully all be available to them long after I have gone! You also meet and correspond with some lovely people! Have fun x

so glad i'm not alone, i have aching legs (top and bottom) back, arms, neck, eyes and most of all head!! i keep thinking the longer i stay on for the quicker i can get it done but i'm just kidding myself-i've been at it since august 2004 originally just to find info on missing grandfather and all i have on him so far is his army medal card!! got lots on other family members but he is the elusive one and HE WILL NOT BEAT ME! i wake up and before my eyes are even open enough to see clearly the comp is on and i'm away in the the land of the ancestors, i never did history at school and now wish i did. another thing-does anyone ever get spooked sitting up in hte early hours looking for dead people, wierd maybe, but don't always feel i'm alone in the dark-oh dear, maybe i'm going mad..................

it is so funny reading all this page and thinking to myself why i am laughing at them all. It is me, i am just the same. I have 4 kids and my youngest now goes to school all day. I thought i would be so bored but i can't seem to stay off my pc. If i am not looking for my own relatives, i am looking for someone else. It is more addictive than chocolate. Which is good i guess. Though like a lot of you i have neck ache, back and bum ache. lol. So i am now going to aqua aerobics and reminding myself how much fun can be had in the real world. Instead of sitting infront of my pc all day and night. Looking for dead people and putting on weight. I am trying to cut down my hours on here. Poor kids dont get a look in. So much for it being for them to help there education. Though one thing i can say for this site is it has such lovely people on it.

Heather

Heather Report 13 Jan 2005 20:01

Perhaps all our hubbies think we are online to toy boys! Especially as you all probably minimise as soon as they walk in the room, like I do! Oh god, never thought of thrombosis, my legs do ache. Perhaps aswell as the anoraks we proposed with the GR logo on them, Genes could also start selling orthopaedic computer chairs

I think I qualify for your club too!!!! up all hours going round in circles, hearing things, wierd dreams of my departed grandparents (who I'm sure are sending me subliminal messages from beyond the grave!) I now have my mother-in-law hooked & so much so that father-in-law has banned us from speeking about it in his presence!!! Oh well at least I'm doing something constructive & a bit of the old 'brain gym' never did anyone any harm did it?

Hi again! Just been thinking here..like you do. How about we invite Derek Acorah from Most Haunted on here perhaps he could help us all get in touch with are ancestors then maybe we could all get a nights sleep! Yvonne
