Mike, thanks to you and finding out about the trial, have found 23 Scott Street residents in 1901 and as my grandad was born in the August 1901 I am assuming that is why he is not on the census but everything else matches and now remember his brothers names. It all came from you finding the christening of Annie. Thanks m'duck, Elaine

I do have:- St Margaret's 1754 ~1800. (Both names, date, and either Licence or Banns.) 1801 ~ 1837. (Both names, year only, Licences or Banns.) 1837 ~ 1897. (full transcribe details.) Am asking for help again Mike. Albert Victor Ward is evading me but I think I have found him on the 1881 census. His parents are William Ward and Mary A Ward and there 5 other siblings. Have gone round in circles looking for him but somewhere on my travels round the net I jotted down 1847 Mary Ann Cramp and 1852 Mary Ann Adcock I think when I was looking at St Margarets so they are only a guess, have nothing to go on, the 1881 census lists these particular Wards at 45 Outram Street, I do have Alberts wedding cert to Rose Warren at St. Georges church 1899, William Warren is deceased by then but not William Ward. Thanks for your time helping Elaine

Mike. The Leicester Lad.(GC) Report 11 Sep 2004 15:27

Greeting’s Again Elaine. . . I’ve looked at the details of the Family you mentioned (1881 Census) At 45,Outram St. Which is off Oxford Street. So Albert Victor was born 1872. So. . . . can you check his age from that Marriage certificate you have. Hopefully it will match or be close enough to the above to say. . ” YES GOT HIM ! ! “ TIP OF THE DAY. . . Always write down details of where your research details came from. So you don’t repeat it again. Or you know where to go to recheck. Think this is the marriage of the Mary Ann you mentioned (1852) Both from St Margaret's Church. . . . . Entry No.54, SEP 23, 1852, after Banns WILLIAM WARD, 23, bach. FWK, of DRYDEN St, s. of JOHN WARD, FWK MARY ANNE ADCOCK, 25, sp. of GROSVENOR St, d. of JOSEPH ADCOCK, FWK Wits: JOHN BENT, ELIZA ADCOCK. And this is the other one 1847 :- Entry No.22, DEC 25, 1847, after Banns WILLIAM WARD, full age, bach. MOULDER, of LEE St, s. of JOHN WARD, MOULDER MARY ANN CRAMP, minor, sp. of LEE St, d. of HENRY CRAMP, FARMER Wits: JAMES WARD, WILLM.? CRAMP. But I don’t think it’s any of these because:- Entry No. 54.. . .It’s only 5 years after Albert’s father (William) was born. Entry No. 22. . . If full age was 16 then this William’s birth is 1831. This is going on the details from the 1881. Census you mentioned for 45.Outram St. Don’t hesitate to get back again should you need to. . . MIKE.

Thanks so much Mike you've found more in less than 12hrs than I've found in 12mths!!!!(LOL) You are right there has to be one awkward one and at the moment Richard is the 'one'. We think he came from Nuneaton as that was where his two eldest were born. His wife Ann (Pegg) was born there too. They were married in Nuneaton in May 1808. Never mind back to the drawing board as they say. Can you mail me direct if you come up with anything else as I have three teenagers and can't always get on to the computer at home so I have to take a peek whilst I am at work and I can't access GR from there. thanks again Janet xxx

Mike. The Leicester Lad.(GC) Report 15 Sep 2004 23:39

Greeting’s Jean. . . from Zummar zet. . . Where the Zidder Apples grow. . . I’m sorry to have to disappoint you and after that great build up. I couldn't’t place all the names and dates given to make up a Brown Family. Either in 1851. Or 1861.Census for the CITY of Leicester. So I checked out the Loughborough Area 1851. Due to the fact Ann & Edwin were born there. I matched up Ann (12) & Edwin (2) dates exactly, but no Elizabeth ! ! Could they have been with grand parents ? Do you know the Maiden name of Elizabeth b.1817.Burbage ? I might be able to pick her up on the 1841 Census Or through her marriage then ? I’ve had a look for the birth of ELIZA. 1850 ~ 1854. The only Leicester birth was the Following :- ELIZA BROWN. April Qrt. 1853. Leicester. Certificate No. 7a. 199. But you might already tried this one ? Sorry I couldn't’t solve your puzzle this time round But do get back if you need further help. MIKE. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * RUTH. . . Welcome back M’ Duck. . . Sounds like you had fun. . . lol:0))) If you send me your address via GR. Then I can pop these print outs of Wale/Hunt Census returns in the post. MIKE. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * LOUISE SHARPE. . . If you post which years for Ibstock. Then I’ll see if I can find them for you. I also see from another thread you have families in the Vale of Belvoir ? I have some of these villages on the 1841 Census returns. If I can help then just ask and I'll see what comes up. MIKE. Greeting's again Geraldine. . . . Copied those details I'll get back as soon as poss. Yes my Auntie was very surprised when I presented her with a illuminated Family Tree for her 90th. Birthday. . . MIKE. Cor. . ." it's like pushing string up hill " It's taken over an hour to post this. . . .grrrr
