Hi, Can anyone tell me if it's possible to trace children who've been adopted when young, and possibly had their surname changed ? I have a relative who was born in 1954 to an unmarried mother, she died after childbirth. From what I'm told the family were not allowed to adopt the child and he was taken to Liverpool where he was placed with another family. How shocking is that ? Thanks, Craig Simpson Burnley Lancashire
