I`m searching for the surname Vallis and Isgan (?). My great grandfather`s first wife was an Ann Vallis from Frome, born around 1838....I think her mother was Mary Ann Isgan. I`m working on this, but any short cuts much appreciated.

This reply is for Terence and Ann - I've tried emailing you both direct but the site keeps showing a red error message (presumably yesterday's maintenance is ongoing!). As I have ME and try to work part-time, I can't help much in the way of research, but as I live in Frome I'd be happy to do what I can - if you need any general info on the area or would like a photo of a property or gravestone, etc. Just let me know.

I am looking for NETHERCOTT in Somerset, especially b. in Dulverton. I am especially looking for Alice Nethercott who was apparently a rather naughty girl--she had 4 illegitimate children, all baptised in Dulverton 1784-1805. I cannot find any trace of her anywhere. Wendy[not Robert--he is my husband]
