Trish that is so nice thank-you. :) I'm glad it took off so well I still wish admin would listen there should be a seperate board where people can add the areas and names they are looking for. Keep the threads sticky so your not having to scroll through all the time and the topics dont keep moving. I find the current way of looking for names tedious and time consuming especially when its a name like Brown! Im so glad it took off so well. Right Im looking for Hore's in Cornwall (Kenwyn) no smirking! Jan x

Hi Barry Yes there are quite a lot spelt that way. They were mostly miners maybe the names stems from that (Isn't it Iron ore?) Im just glad when my mother in law got married she didn't request a double barreled name I can just imagine being tagged Janet Nick(er)less-Hore ! Jan x

Hi All Researching in Devon JOHN KNIGHT'S family - Although John was born Broadwinsor Dorset in 1857 he married SARAH PILTON who was registered in Axminster in1879 and they lived and had their family in Membury Devon. SARAH PILTON could also have been known as SARAH NEWBERRY and her father may have been ROBERT NEWBERRY. SARAH JANE'S birth certificate only gives her mother's name which was SARAH ANN PILTON. (SARAH ANN married ROBERT NEWBERRY in Membury in 1868. Ann Glos
