Good websites for those researching Cornish ancestors www(.)cornish-ancestors(.)co(.)uk - all sorts including census, OPC's, directories, parish look up's etc www(.)mytrees(.)com - some free bits including 1871 Cornish census www(.)a2a(.)pro(.)gov(.)uk/ - fascinating reading, but you can find details of apprenticeships, bastardy bonds, etc, plus what your ancestors were sent to do hard labour for! www(.)genealogy4u(.)co(.)uk/ a good site for grimsby and cleethorpes connections with links to others. www(.)lightage(.)demon(.)co(.)uk/ The black sheep and police index with reports on your police ancestors. You have to buy reports but the site itself is free. www(.)rich24.freeserve(.)co(.)uk/ Some really good trawler nostalgia mostly for Grimsby though www(.)angelfire(.)com/de/delighted/voters(.)html Absent voters in Grimsby and Cleethorpes in 1919 hope you like these Jane

http://www.calverley.info/ fantastic site of information relating to Calverly Parish in North Riding also has loads of material, census records, parish records and war memorials on the villages of Farnley and Hampsthwaite - well worth a look if any of your relations come from this part of Yorkshire.

Hello, I'm a Newbie, I stumbled onto this page and found it very helpfull, thought it might be useful to other Newbies. It explains in detail, coloum by coloum the breakdown of the Birth cert. (there are sister pages for other Certs.), it's part of a large site but the address below will take you streight there. www(.)dixons(.)clara(.)co(.)uk/Certificates/birth(.)htm Remove the brackets, the uppercase C in Certificates IS part of the address. All the Best Peter
