I have been tracking my families army roots in the UK. I have just come across a great site for those searching for family members from Yorkshire and Kent regiments. In its section on the history of the regiments there are several diaries of servicemen. I spent an hour engrosed in the diary of an Englishman serving in India between 1864 and 1870. It lists many of the names of the troops serving in India in the index at the end of the diary. Check it out at http://www(.)greenhowards(.)org(.)uk/index(.)htm Take ou the brackets.
